First Survey of Online Education in NASPAA MPA/MPP Schools

31 Schools report offering online courses, 17 consider starting  (View Full Results)
  • Participants cite “extending the reach of [their] school” and “providing more options for students” as primary reasons for online education, while “lack of face-to-face contact” and “insufficient faculty interest” were the greatest detriments.
  • In those schools offering online courses, the vast majority of students are in state—demonstrating that the reach of many of these schools are not extending as much as hoped. 
  • Schools offering online courses report strong demand, with most programs either growing or maintaining size.
